African Association of Young Insurance Professionals (YIPs Africa) is an initiative foundedand led by Young
Insurance professionals across the African continent. The idea wasconceived by a few individuals who decided to expand
on their vision by bringing togetherother young professionals from across Africa to formalize their ideas into a
solidorganization with representation across Africa, all working towards achieving theobjectives of the Association.
YIPs Africa is a long-awaited Association that young insurance professionals across Africahave been clamoring for. The
idea had been conceived and nurtured overtime and at thebeginning of 2022, the group took action to officially outdoor
the organization.
To be the leading organization in the development of young insurance professionals through education and access to
opportunities for the younger professionals across Africa, thereby supporting the continued growth of the African
Insurance industry.
We aim to benefit our industry by promoting the attraction, retention and development of new talents and ensuring that
they share our passion for the continued growth and prosperity of the African Insurance market.

We started with membership of less than 10 comprising of the founding members /executives and have grown to
official members of more than 1,400 across Africa. Also, we have over 10,000 followers on our social media page
which is rapidly growing as we keep engaging across the continent.
Membership to YIPs Africa is free and open to students, recent graduates, young professionals working in the
insurance industry below the age of 40years across various functions of underwriting, broking, marketing,
actuaries, claims personnel, risk engineering, loss adjusting, insurance lawyers, accounting executives and
other insurance service providers across the African Continent.
Mr. Bammeke has over 40 years experience in risk analysis and management from an integrated
perspective, having played in all the sectors of the insurance industry value chain in various technical
and managerial positions with over 10years of experience as CEO.
He joined the public service in 2005 as the First General Manager in charge of Group Risk Management and
Insurance of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) where he later retired at the mandatory age
of 60 as the Group General Manager.
He has acquired various management skills through training and seminars from national and
international institutions including the Harvard Business School, INSEAD, University of Texas/PETEX,
American Management Association, Euromoney, and the Lagos Business School.
Md. Lydia Lariba Bawa is a Ghanaian lawyer, former Commissioner of Insurance of the Republic of Ghana
and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. She worked with SIC all her professional life and
rose to the position of Chief Manager and Area Manager in charge of the Northern Sector of Ghana.
Since the year 2000, she has been a visiting lecturer at the West Africa Insurance Institute in Banjul, The
Gambia, and at the Ghana Insurance College since its establishment in 2006. She has been a member of
several boards in Ghana, including as Legal Adviser to the National Catholic Laity Council, Boards of the
National Catholic Laity Council, the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), and many more.
Dr. Tarek Seif is a seasoned insurance professional with over 25 years of richly diversified experience in
the insurance industry as a practitioner, consultant, and trainer. He was appointed as the Secretary
General of the Insurance Federation of Egypt on the 1st of January 2021.
Through his new position and his own vision, he managed to implement the Federation's strategy internally and externally
thereby enhancing mutual cooperation between the Insurance Federation of Egypt and the international and regional
insurance entities.
As a result of his efforts in that field, He has been appointed by African Insurance Organization (AIO) as its Ambassador
in the Egyptian market. Throughout his career, he has supported insurance professionals, executives, and board members
through conducting insurance courses and seminars in various areas of insurance across the Middle East.
Ms. Rose Wanda is currently the Secretary General & CEO of Organization of Eastern and Southern Africa
Insurers (OEASAI). She acts as a part-time lecturer at the College of Insurance, Kenya, and also privileged
to serve as an Executive Council Member of the Insurance Institute of Kenya where she doubles up as
the Convenor and Public Relations Committee.
Rose is passionate about community service and together with support of well-wishers runs a porridge feeding program for
over 100 boys and girls aged between 4 to 6 years in a local primary school where she serves as a board member. She is a
Chartered Insurer CII London, a Certified Trustee TDPK, holds a BCOM (Hons) in Insurance and Risk Management from Egerton
University and an MBA in Strategic Management from University of Nairobi both in Kenya.
Mr. Roger Siewe is the General Manager of Ghana Reinsurance Plc – Cameroon which is a position he
has been overseeing since April 1st, 2014, till date. Before then, he served as the Head of Marine and Aviation
Department of GRAS SAVOYE, Marketing and Commercial Director of Zenithe Insurance Company and Executive Director of
Globus Network respectively.
Roger has trained himself academically at DESS Assurances of IIA Yaounde, DEA Econometrics in Yaounde University,
and has a Master 2 in Marketing from Montpellier University, France. As an extracurricular activity, he is a Marine
Insurance teacher at the IIA Yaounde and sits as the President of the Marine Insurance Commission of ASAC (Cameroon
Insurers Association).
